B2B Workforce Time and Expense Portal - Up and Running

We've just completed a full payroll cycle with the new time and expense portal, and while our IT and Accounting Teams have worked through a few unexpected glitches, the overall comments from the field have been positive. A big "thank you" to all of you for your patience during this transition. See some of the highlights of the new system below:

  • Consultants are now emailed reminders and links to their time and expense card for the upcoming week on a weekly basis.
  • Consultants can more easily view timecards and expenses still in process in both Draft and Submitted mode to identify problems earlier in the process.
  • Corp-to-Corp Consultants who bill through their own company now have the ability to submit their invoice via the updated portal.
  • Corp-to-Corp Consultants can now log into the portal to view the Due Dates on their invoices.
  • Accounting has the ability to automatically track whether a time or expense card is missing for the week and can alert the consultant if they don't see it.
  • Accounting can now download pay data to both the Payroll and Accounts Payable systems for more accurate processing.

What Are Consultant Job Alerts?

If you haven't heard about the new B2B Job Alerts Community, read further. B2B Alerts is a new technology specific, collaborative effort that keeps its "invitation-only" members informed of the best opportunities available at any given time. B2B Workforce is utilizing its Alerts Community to keep everyone aware of engagements where we are partnered with Primes such as Accenture, BearingPoint, Deloitte, as well as other top firms looped in on some of the top ERP/CRM Projects happening in the industry. This exciting new network allows you to be informed of the best opportunities in real time!

Bottom line….if you're currently not part of this community, you should be. Consider this your invitation to begin receiving automated alerts, which notify you of opportunities to be represented by B2B on prime engagements. To activate your membership, please send an email with "Consultant Job Alerts" in the subject line to Katie Caruso, kcaruso@b2bworkforce.com. She will send you a list of the different communities available, and will work with you to determine the best community for you.

A Note from our RPO Practice

The RPO Practice continues to grow at a consistent pace, which has enabled us to hire a dedicated Sales Manager to focus on continuing business development. Janet Rentz began with B2B Workforce approximately 5 weeks ago and is responsible for sales and business development for the RPO Practice. She was formerly a sales executive at Manpower where she was responsible for selling large-scale recruiting solutions. She works directly with Bill Peters, the RPO Practice Manager in identifying and developing new business opportunities. The Practice is currently in pursuit of a 5-Year RPO deal with a mid-sized RFID Engineering and Toll Collections firm, a deal that could be worth more than $8 million in total contract value. Wish us luck!

Public Sector Practice- Big Wins for June!

One of the keys to B2B Workforce's success is teaming with large integrators on Public Sector Projects. In June, B2B enjoyed being a part of two winning teams with projects that will require top talent from our ERP Practices beginning in August of 2005. Through a teaming arrangement with Accenture, our SAP Financials consultants will be tapped to assist the US Army on its GFEBS project to replace three current systems currently running on mainframes. Work on the project is currently scheduled to begin at Fort Jackson, SC and will reportedly include development of a real property inventory system. Another teaming arrangement with BearingPoint has nicely positioned B2B Workforce with the opportunity to supply ERP implementation resources to most IT projects for the US Navy. On the state and local side, B2B teamed with IBM and won work providing our PeopleSoft consultants to the State of Indiana. This is a critical time of year for our Public Sector practice as the government is ending one calendar year and beginning a new one, so many awards will be announced in upcoming months.

Employment Opportunities

If you are already in an hourly role with B2B Workforce, and you've ever considered finding a "home" to hang your metaphorical ERP/CRM hat, then we invite you to look closer at B2B Workforce.

The partners have made a conscious decision to invest in building a full time Solutions Consulting Team across all of our ERP/CRM Practices.

Initially, we will be building out these teams across most all modules of our SAP, Siebel, EAI, and PeopleSoft Practices. If you would like to convert your current hourly relationship with B2B Workforce to one that would provide you with a Salary, some bench time, Employee Group Insurance Benefits fully paid for from day one of your salaried status with us, Annual Training, and Paid Time Off Benefits, please contact Heather Arnold at 770-667-7215 to discuss further.

B2B Friends

Often we get tied up and focused on the job at hand on a day- to-day basis, but every now and again the events of life cause us to "slow down and smell the roses", as they say. We do our best to keep in touch with all of our consultants and employees in the field, especially when they are celebrating a marriage, new home, or the birth of a baby (or babies, as most recently we've seen a peak in twins and triplets!). Sometimes we don't get it all, as the geographic "remoteness" of everyone, often leaves us out of the loop on such events.

Most recently, however, one of our consultants called with information that caused us all a pause in our day. He had just returned from the doctor and been diagnosed with ALS, otherwise known as Lou Gherig's Disease. Wayne is a dear friend, who we consider part of the B2B Workforce family. He began his career with B2B Workforce when our company was still in its infancy and throughout his 4-year tenure with us, as a consultant working with some of our major clients, he continues to be of tremendous value to the core of our business. In speaking with many of you who are aware of Wayne's condition, a desire has been expressed to contribute to a fund that would potentially help to provide some financial assistance to what is certain to be an increase in medical expenses over the forthcoming years.

We have been extremely touched by this response and your phone calls asking for ways to help. As a result, we've set up a contribution fund at Bank of America where you may make a contribution through deposit. Please make checks out to: Wayne Reichert Contribution Fund, Account Number; 003269224376 at your local Bank of America branch or through an online transfer directly with your online Bank of America bank account, if applicable. Or, you may mail a check directly to B2B for deposit:

Consultant Spotlights

We like to recognize Consultants in the field who we know have gone above and beyond consistently for our clients and B2B Workforce. Each of the below will receive a $100 American Express Gift Certificate. If you would like to nominate someone for this award in the future, please send the name of the individual along with a few points on why you think they should be considered to Heather Arnold: harnold@b2bworkforce.com

PeopleSoft/Oracle Practice Consultant Spotlight- Paige Peterson
Paige Peterson has been described by her current manager as a "True Leader," and that she is. She has been part of B2B since March, and has been a dedicated consultant. She works hard, and goes the extra mile to keep the client happy. She has even donated her personal time to help the client meet crucial deadlines. She stays focused, takes other B2B consultants on the project under her wing, and keeps us posted on all the happenings. Consultants like Paige make the Recruiting Business a breeze!

SAP Practice Consultant Spotlight- David Johnson
SAP Practice Managers want to recognize consultant David Johnson who made a huge impression on the high profile BearingPoint project where he is engaged. Charged with fixing interfaces in the manufacturing execution systems space, he worked around the clock and logged close to 300 hours over a period of nearly 3 weeks. The client sent an exemplary recommendation letter to BearingPoint, and consequently, they extended him on the engagement for another year. B2B Workforce appreciates David's efforts to go above and beyond and help to strengthen our relationship with BearingPoint.

Siebel/EAI Practice Consultant Spotlight - Lance Huang
Lance Huang is assigned to one of B2B Workforce's key customers, IBM, and performs a key leadership role as a Lead. He quickly ramped up and successfully established himself with the team and has positively affected B2B's reputation with IBM as well as with their client. Since there, he has provided constant insight to key customer issues and influenced the decision to increase B2B's business by bringing on subsequent consultants. Lance has made an enormous impact and brought focus to the project, all while preparing for his wedding this month. Congratulations to the happy couple and we really appreciate the contributions made!
