  Fiberdyne Chooses Siebel CRM OnDemand
Fiberdyne Labs, a manufacturer of fiber optic networking products, has deployed Siebel CRM OnDemand. Fiberdyne Labs estimates that with Siebel CRM OnDemand, it will be able to double its revenues in the next 18 months and significantly increase sales per representative.

"To be successful in the fiber optics industry, we operate communicate developments almost every hour," said Peter Polus, CEO, Fiberdyne Labs. "With better territory management, we will be able to more efficiently assign sales leads and customer accounts to each sales representative. We are already seeing major results."

One of the attractions of Siebel CRM OnDemand for Fiberdyne is its ability to ensure that customer account information, including a history of interactions with each account, is backed up, virus-free, and available to executive management.

Headquartered in Frankfort, New York, Fiberdyne Labs, manufactures fiber optic products and provides manufacturing and installation services to various North American and global organizations, including cable TV and telecommunications companies, universities, and governmental organizations.

Coremetrics Appoints Jane Paolucci to Vice President of Marketing
Coremetrics, the hosted analytics solutions provider, has appointed Jane Paolucci vice president of marketing. In her new role, Paolucci will develop and lead the execution of strategic marketing initiatives to extend Coremetrics' presence in the hosted Web analytics market.

"We are pleased to have attracted Jane Paolucci," said Joe Davis, president and CEO of Coremetrics. "Her broad knowledge of the CRM market and her strategic leadership will be instrumental in driving Coremetrics' continued market penetration."

Prior to joining Coremetrics, Paolucci was the group director of public relations at Siebel Systems. Before Siebel, Paolucci was the director of analyst and public relations at the Clarify division of Amdocs. Paolucci was also director of corporate marketing at Remedy Corporation, she has held marketing roles at other high technology companies including Decisive Technology and Neuron Data.

"The Web analytics market is expanding rapidly and Coremetrics is well poised to capitalize on this growth," said Paolucci. "I look forward to working with the team."

Adam Bosworth Leaves BEA for Google
Siebel partner
BEA (Nasdaq: BEAS) has lost its chief architect to Google. Adam Bosworth, developer of BEA's WebLogic Workshop development tool for Java and its new Alchemy product has resigned to accept a new position with soon-to-be public internet search sensation.

Bosworth joined BEA in 2001 when it bought CrossGain, a company he co-founded. Earlier in his career was widely credited as instrumental in the development of Borland's Quattro, Microsoft's Access, Internet Explorer, and XML.

In its latest regulatory filing, Google plans to offering shares to the public at $108 to $135 a share and expects to raise $32 billion.

The news comes at a bad time for BEA which posted lower-than-expected performance in first-quarter and moved the Vice President of Products out of his position and put Chief Marketing Officer Tod Nielsen in charge of product development temporarily. In its anti-trust suit this month, Oracle (Nasdaq: ORCL) listed BEA as a possible take over candidate.

Indian Consulting Firms Report Good Results
In what has proven to be a disappointing quarter for American software companies Indian consulting firms Infosys, Wipro and Cognizant reported surprisingly strong financial results:

  • Infosys: Revenues rose 38.6% to 15.17 billion rupees (US $327.54 million), ahead of analysts' forecasts for 14.35 billion rupees (US $309.8 million);
  • Wipro: Revenue rose 51% to 17.7 billion rupees (US $382.12 million);
  • Cognizant: Revenue increased 59% to $138.7 million from $87.4 million in the second quarter of 2003.

    As more North American and European based companies are exploring the cost effective, highly educated and aggressive workforce India offers, the balance of power in the technology business seems poised to shift away from software and into service.
